Dry Mix Concrete Plant
A dry concrete batching plant is used to mix all the components needed for a concrete mixture but barely using water. This type of plant is also called a “transit mix” plant since all the materials are transported to the site where the concrete will be used and mixed.
As the dry concrete batching plant does not include a mixer, they can overcome some inherent limitations that the wet mix concrete batching plant has, which is not only suitable for the working conditions of the wet mix concrete batching plant but also for extreme weather conditions such as high temperature, high heat, high altitude as well as long transportation distance.
Application of Dry Mix Concrete Plant
This concrete batch plants can mix hard concrete, plastic concrete, flowing concrete, as well as various other lightweight aggregate concrete. It applies to concrete construction in various construction projects, including water conservancy, electricity, railways, highways, tunnels, bridges, harbors, docks and state defense projects, etc., the scope is extremely wide.
One of the primary advantages of a dry concrete batching plant is that it can be used in locations where water is scarce or not available. This makes dry batching plants ideal for use in deserts, remote locations, or any other place where water is not easily accessible.

How Much Does A Dry Batch Concrete Plant Cost?
The price range of dry batch concrete stations starts from $15000 to $28000. Dry concrete batching plant do not have a fixed price. The equipment does not have a main mixing machine, so it is cheaper than the wet mixing station.
The price of the dry concrete batching plant depends on its configuration, machinery, size, and model selected, and on customer specifications. Optional configurations include:
- Number of cement silos
- Size of batching machine
- Belt conveyor
- Hopper conveyor
- Dust removal mode
The Difference Between Dry and Wet Batch Concrete Plant
There are two types of concrete batching plants: dry mix concrete batching plants and wet batch concrete plants.
Both them are used to producing concrete, but wet concrete plant can produce concrete on its own, because it has twin shaft paddle mixer as the mixing console. However, dry type concrete batching plant needs to cooperate with concrete mixer truck, only this can it produce concrete for construction project.
1. The wet mixing plant has a central mixer which offers a more consistent mix quality. The dry mixing plant usually sees more break strength standard deviation and also variations from load to load due to inconsistencies in the duration of mixing, the condition of mixing blade and drum of the truck, traffic conditions during transport, etc.
2. Dry mixing plants do not have a mixing machine and mixing takes place during transit. Whereas, in a wet mixing plant, the mixing takes place in the main mixing machine of the central plant.
3. Wet mixing can be done in a short period, generally 60s, and offers consistent mixture. Dry mixers take a longer period to produce the desired concrete.
4. In a central wet mix plant, all the batches undergo the same mixing action and also undergo the quality control process before loading to the transport trucks. The quality control process is not possible in dry mix plants as the mixing process takes place during transit.
5. Wet mixing station is suitable for projects with high concrete quality requirements or commercial concrete mixing plants. On the other hand, the dry concrete mixing station is suitable for projects that do not have strict requirements for concrete quality standards and require long-distance transportation.

Main Components of Dry Mix Concrete Batching Plant
The general elements of a dry mix concrete plant are:
1. Concrete Mixer
Horizontal twin-shaft compulsory mixer has strong mixing ability, it can mix the materials evenly and effectively. It can mix concrete with different slumps and raw materials ratio.
Its mixing blade and lining board are made of high chromium wear-resistant alloy. External shaft end support and special shaft seal ensure the long service life of the mixer.
2. Aggregates Batcher
The quantity of aggregate Bins depends on the customer’s requirements, usually three or four bins. A wheel loader can be used to transfer the aggregates to the aggregate bins. In the bottom of the aggregate bin, there are one fine aggregate and one coarse aggregate discharging gate. Once receiving signals, the cylinder will open the discharging gate, and the aggregates are discharged into the weighing hopper respectively.
3. Weighing System
It has the function of automatic difference compensation, aggregates, cement, water fly ash and additive all has their own weighing system, and the results are accurate.
4. Aggregate Conveying System
After weighing, the aggregate are sent to the concrete mixer by the lifting hopper or belt conveying system.
5. Control system
The whole plant is controlled by industrial control computer. This system has the following features: real-time data processing function; both automatic and manual control are available; simple and convenient operation, for the automatic control system,The PLC is the world famous Germany Brand, the electric components are Schneider Brand from France.

How Does A Dry Concrete Batch Plant Work?
Based on the customer requirement, budget, and anticipated demand for the concrete, the customer can choose the batch mixing plant. Both the dry plant and wet plant have the same components, except that the dry batching plant does not have a mixer.
The operation procedure of the fully automatic concrete mixing station (as an example) is as follows:
- The aggregate (sand and stone) is unloaded into the batching machine by the loader.
- The batching machine then weighs the aggregate and batches them according to the set proportion.
- Once weighed, the aggregate is conveyed to the storage hopper through the conveyor belt or hopper.
- At the same time, cement, water and the additive are conveyed to a storage hopper through their respective weighing and conveying systems.
- The mixture is then discharged from the storage hopper to the concrete truck tanker.

Second-hand or New Dry Mix Concrete Plant?
Buying a used dry mix concrete plant may seem like a good idea to save on costs, it may come with several risks that could be costly in the long run. we don’t recommend buying a used dry mix concrete plant.
1. Quality Issues
Most used equipment may have gone through multiple repairs and may have several parts that have worn out, which may affect the overall quality of the concrete mix. It’s also crucial to ensure the concrete plant meets the required standards for producing high-quality concrete. In most cases, used dry mix concrete plant may not meet these standards, thus producing substandard concrete. It’s best to invest in dry mix concrete plant that meets all the required safety and quality standards.
2. After Sale Issues
Buying a used dry mix concrete plant may come with several after-sale issues. Many times, it’s difficult to guarantee the reliability of the seller. The seller may even be a middleman who purchased it from another seller or auction. This increases the risk of buying a used concrete plant that has several hidden problems that may not be apparent until after the sale. Additionally, the cost of transporting the plant may increase due to the location of the seller. With a new plant, you can always rely on the dealer’s warranty and support.
3. Difficulty in Securing Spare Parts
In most cases, manufacturers may stop producing parts for the outdated models. When a part wears out or breaks down, it may take weeks or even months to find a replacement. This can significantly affect the production process, and in the long run, affect the project’s timelines. With a new dry mix concrete plant, you are assured availability of spare parts and technical support.
